## What it is

BDR Agent is an AI-native Business Development Representative. It replaces a traditional outbound stack (sourcing tool + sequencer + deliverability tooling, e.g. Apollo + Lemlist + Smartlead) with a single agent that lives inside your AI assistant through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

You talk to it in natural language from Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible client. It executes the work, reports back, and keeps you in control at every step. There is no separate UI to learn.

## How it works (three steps)

1. Describe your ICP. In one paragraph, state who you sell to, your criteria, and your exclusions. The agent indexes matching signals and locks the mission (scope, cap, resources).
2. The agent sources & qualifies. Example prompt: "find me 30 SaaS CMOs that just raised". It discovers accounts, finds public contacts, and qualifies on signals. The leads table is built live.
3. Engage in your voice. Pick a playbook. The agent writes in your tone and sends email from your own mailboxes (Gmail / Microsoft), respecting deliverability guardrails.

## Connecting via MCP

BDR Agent is exposed as a Streamable HTTP MCP server.

- Add the endpoint URL in your client's connector/MCP settings, authenticate to your workspace, and start prompting.

### Prerequisite — Claude web search (client-first sourcing)

For the best sourcing quality, enable web search on your Claude organization
(Admin settings → Capabilities → Web search). BDR Agent is "client-first": by
default the assistant searches the web itself and submits named leads with
datable proof. When web search is unavailable, the connector silently falls
back to a lower-quality server-side discovery path — it never blocks, but the
result quality is reduced. Web search enabled is therefore the recommended
condition for the client-first path.
